Richard works at the Julius Kühn-Institut’s Institute of Bee Protection, researching terrestrial ecotoxicology with a focus on honey bee health. He leads the honey-bee monitoring within the FInAL project, linking landscape measures to colony performance through hive-weight tracking, monthly pollen/nectar profiling, residue analysis, Liebefeld estimates, health screenings, and RFID-based individual tracking. He coordinated the VIBEE project (vibee-project.net) and co-launched NutriBee. Richard holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences (University of Hohenheim), is a passionate beekeeper with over 18 years of experience, and previously served as a study director at two major CROs.
